CBP ISF 10+2

US Customs has now implemented the new ISF 10+2 program to safe guard the products being imported to USA. The ownership of this program is with the US Importer and they are responsible for making sure the ISF 10+2 form is being completed by importer and origin.

This program commenced on January 26, 2009 but CBP has granted a period of 12 months for US Importers to fully implement without any fines, however it is strongly encouraged that US Importer already commence now, and ideally based on the 80/20 concept.

CBP will monitor all Importers if they have started implementing and filing the 10 data points prior to ETD or latest prior to ETA, there will be no fines at this time, but CBP will send out friendly reminders of US Importers are not at least trying.

ISF 10+2 is separate from AMS which is still mandatory to be filed and AMS can result in a "no load ruling" from CBP, contrary to ISF 10+2, there will be no such "load/no load" rulings.
